Remodelling and Extension of The Glades, Bromley
Capital Shopping Centres has completed the remodelling and extension of the southern end of The Glades, Bromley. The development brings an additional 50,000 sq ft of prime retail to the centre consisting of a 30,000 sq ft MSU and five other units of between 500-4,500 sq ft. The MSU and one unit have second frontages onto the High Street.
H&M has taken the 30,000 sq ft MSU, which incorporates 3 levels, making it the largest store in the region. Mango and The Body Shop have each taken a store on the lower mall. Mango is new to Bromley and The Body Shop has relocated from the High Street. Both stores are in the region of 2,500 sq ft.
Of the other three stores two are under offer and only one is available.
Centre Manager Howard Oldstein said: 'The opening of the new development has generated much excitement from our shoppers and retailers. The new retailers have been delighted with the initial sales being achieved. Customer feedback has also been positive, with many commenting on the spacious development design, together with the choice of retailers that are now trading from this area.’
Kay Chaldecott, Managing Director of Capital Shopping Centres (the owners of The Glades) said: ‘We are delighted that, following the completion of the development, which involved demolition of two High Street properties, The Glades is able to provide first class units to such popular retailers.’
