Phase 2
CSC owns a further 145 acres of land with planning consent surrounding Braehead plus an additional 20 acres which are subject to planning. A masterplan has been developed which includes:
- Xscape, a leisure scheme providing Scotland's first indoor real snow ski slope, a multiplex cinema, bowling, restaurants and speciality retail, in all some 460,000 sq. ft. of space. Xscape Braehead is a joint venture between Capital Shopping Centres and Capital & Regional.
- 750,000 sq.ft. office space business park
- 1,350 new homes including flats, townhouses and family homes; the first phase is now under construction by George Wimpey
- public riverside parkland and walkway for the local community - due to open in summer 2005
Braehead is part of the Renfrew Riverside Partnership and is working with Renfrewshire Council and adjoining landowners to complete the regeneration of the wider area.
